Employees use their workplace washrooms as a place to escape and let off steam, according to a new study commissioned by Tork manufacturer SCA.
And half of those questioned want their employers to pay more attention to the quality of the washrooms where they work.
The survey has been carried out to coincide with SCA’s participation in the Volvo Ocean Race. The study into public and work-related hygiene took place in 13 countries around the world, including all stopover countries in the race.
The SCA Hygiene Matters survey shows that workplace washrooms are the only areas that offer individual privacy, which means they fill an important social function for employees.
