Creating value for members

CHSA Chairmans Lunch 2026

Chairman’s Lunch: an opportunity to connect, be inspired and do business

By Nick Thompson, Chair of the CHSA

‘Creating value’ is a buzz phrase common in business and without a clear definition of what it means in the context and evidence to back it up, it is meaningless.

Here at the CHSA, we believe membership must help members grow, compete more effectively and reduce risk, so we have defined it and are doing things that back up our ambition.

Key to creating value is to support members’ business growth and strategic networking and market intelligence is fundamental. Strategic networking offers the opportunity to build and deepen valuable commercial relationships. As well as providing critical information on regulations, emerging trends, sustainability, and new technologies, good market intelligence can provide a deeper understanding of customer needs. We united them at our Chairman’s Lunch, took place on Thursday 29 October at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

This exclusive event brought together manufacturers and distributors of cleaning and hygiene products and organisations from across the facilities management sector.  It offered a unique opportunity to build strategic relationships, exchange ideas and explore new business opportunities in one of the world’s most iconic sporting venues.

Attendees also received valuable market intelligence. Liz Kentish, co-founder of Kentish and Co will deliver the keynote address titled What Buyers Wish Suppliers Knew – the view from the other side of the FM buying table.

With experience on both sides of the client–supplier relationship, Liz explored what those buying, specifying and using cleaning and hygiene products really want from their suppliers. She examined what value means beyond price, what makes a supplier easy to work with and trusted, where innovation genuinely adds value, and what buyers now expect around sustainability, evidence and transparency. This information offered members the insight they need to align closely to their customers and enhance their market position.

The inaugural Chairman’s Lunch was sponsored by Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers, Cromwell Polythene, Greyland, Harrisons Wipes, Polaris and SC Johnson.
